Shikinohana, translated means beautiful Four Season flowers. The intricate details of this hand carved and hand painted kokeshi by Sato Suigai remind one of the Summer Hydrangea season in Japan. Design is lavender and periwinkle blue hydrangea blossoms on a blue green kimono with gold accent. Her black hair is styled like a Japanese princess from the Heian period. (784-1183)
