Vintage Green/Gold Silk Fukuro Obi

Sold Out

Beautiful green obi with gold woven design

166 inches in length   12 inches in width

Perfect for the holidays!

In excellent condition, no tears or thread runs. There are a few tiny black marks on the back of the obi but  you have to look to find them. There are some fold lines on the obi. The front is perfect. An obi is used to tie around a woman wearing a kimono. A fukuro obi is made so that the part that will not be visible when worn is smooth, with the solid color only. That is the case with this obi, there is 52 inches of the obi that is the solid green fabric. I use the obi as a table runner or on a table or bookcase  where I display my kokeshi dolls on the top. I often fold the obi into a design or just lay it flat, depending on what I'm using it for. When new, an obi can cost many thousands of dollars so when I can find a beautiful obi like this one at a reasonable amount, I grab it!
