For our customers in Japan, Kokeshi Designs will be participating in the following events:

As always, call the base to confirm that the bazaars are going on as scheduled.

For our customers in the United States, Kokeshi Designs will be at the Salt Lake Family Christmas Show at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah. We will be there on Friday and Saturday, November 11 & 12. Come by and see our beautiful Kokeshi Nativity Sets as well as much, much more. We look forward to seeing you either in Japan or in Utah! 

Kokeshi Nativity Sets September 08 2011, 7 Comments

The 9-pc Kokeshi Nativity Sets are coming! We thought we would have them by the end of August, but it looks like it will be closer to the end of September.  For those of you who have contacted us, we will send you an email as soon as the sets arrive. Thank you for your patience. The 9-pc Kokeshi Nativity Set is our original design. It is beautiful and worth the wait!

We are getting many e-mails about the availability of the 3-pc and 9-pc Kokeshi Nativity Sets. Thank you for your interest in the sets. The sets are hand crafted and hand painted and are beautiful!  The sets have been ordered and are being made now. We hope to have them back in stock by August. Please check back with us then.

Traveling on Business May 31 2011, 2 Comments

 All of us at Kokeshi Designs are leaving town which means no one is around to ship the orders! Don't worry as we'll be back on June 12.  We want to let you know that any order placed between June 1 through June 12 will not ship until June 14. We apologize for any inconvenience.

When you place your order you receive an e-mail confirmation letting you know we have your order in our system. You will still receive that e-mail as we'll be online during our travels. Once your order ships you receive a shipping confirmation e-mail giving you the date your dolls shipped as well as a delivery confirmation number. That second e-mail will happen after June 14 when we get all orders shipped.

Salt Lake City, Nihon Matsuri April 19 2011, 1 Comment

Kokeshi Designs will be in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, April 30 from 10am to 5pm for the Nihon Matsuri Festival. The festival will be held on Japantown Street which is 100 South between 200 and 300 West in downtown Salt Lake City. The festival is open to the public with free admission. We look forward to seeing our friends in Salt Lake City! If there is a special doll you would like us to bring please email us at kokeshidesigns@hotmail.com and let us know your request.

Thank You for your Concern March 18 2011, 0 Comments

 A special thank you to all of you who have emailed us with your heart felt concern and good wishes for our Japanese Kokeshi artists. Our artists are family to us here at Kokeshi Designs and we are happy to tell you that all of our artists and their families are safe!  They are continuing with their work as will we, as we support them in selling their unique and beautiful hand crafted kokeshi dolls.

Our hearts go out to the many Japanese  who have lost family members in the earthquake and tsunami. We are joining with many of you by making a donation to help with the recovery and clean up efforts.  

Again, our thanks for the many emails. We will pass them along to our dear friends in Japan.

Earthquake in Japan 3/11/11 March 11 2011, 1 Comment

Our thoughts and prayers are with our dear friends in Japan who have suffered a devastating earthquake. We are waiting for word on the safety of our artists and their families who live in Gumma prefecture. I have spoken with Naomi in Tokyo and she is safe. We will keep you posted as we receive more information.

3/14/11    All of our artists and their familes are safe and well. One artist did sustain damage at his studio, but is quickly returning the studio to working order. We watch in awe and respect at the courage and grace of the Japanese people as they deal with this crisis. Our thoughts and prayers continue for the wonderful people of Japan.

 We are adding some new dolls to the website. It will take us about a week to get all the prices and information on the site. Until then you will not be able to purchase the new dolls.  We are excited about the coming year with the addition of our Birthday Kokeshi Dolls. We have designed 12 dolls with a beautiful flower on each doll, representing each month. Look for those dolls the end of January.

 December 25th is quickly approaching! We are doing our best to turn around orders as quickly as possible. We are wrapping, packing and shipping every day. We want you to have your kokeshi dolls in time for Christmas! The USPS deadline for Priority shipping within the United States is Monday December 20th. Please do not delay in ordering. All orders placed this weekend will ship on Monday December 20th. We are coming to Salt Lake City, Utah!

Kokeshi Designs will be at the Salt Lake Family Christmas Show at the Sandy Expo Center,  Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13 from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm. We will be located at Booth 347 towards the back on the right hand side of the hall. We are bringing all of our Kokeshi Nativity Sets, our christmas kokeshi dolls and much, much more! Kokeshi Designs Shipping September 20 2010, 1 Comment

We've had a few questions about shipping, so this is how it  works!  All orders within the United States are shipped USPS Priority mail from our location in Utah. We process your order within 1-2 days and once your package ships, you can expect delivery within 2-3 business days. We send a shipping email with the delivery confirmation number. You can check the USPS website to see the progress of your package.  You are not paying the shipping from Japan. We have already done that for you!

For our international orders,  we use USPS Priority or international first class shipping. We also ship to APO and FPO addresses using USPS Priority mail.

We do ship from Tokyo, Japan but only to orders within Japan and on occasion to other countries within Asia.

If you need your package expedited, please email us and we will make those arrangements with you.

A New Artist June 29 2010, 0 Comments

We just received a shipment of kokeshi dolls so some of your favorite items are now available. Our next shipment is due mid-July so if you don't see what you want, check back in a few weeks. 

We are working with a new artist,  Sansaku. His work is absolutely fantastic with beautiful detail and carving. We are already carrying a few of his dolls (SS-31, SS-10, SS-14), and will be adding several new additions to the website soon. Naomi and I had the opportunity to visit his studio and spent a lovely afternoon with Sansaku and his wife enjoying his beautiful work. Sansaku and his wife were lovely hosts and Naomi and I appreciated their hospitality. We are so excited to be adding additional dolls from his collection and sharing them with our customers around the world.

If you have been visiting the Kokeshi Designs website lately you may have noticed that we have been modifying our design. We thank you for your patience and apologize if the site updates have caused you any inconvenience. The shopping cart has been updated and has a SSL 128-bit encryption checkout page. That means you can feel secure your credit card is safe on our site. 

The product inventory has remained the same so finding your favorite Kokeshi Doll should still be very easy. Just click on the shop link at the top of the page to see the list of our product categories.
